Sponsorship Giveaway: Gypsy Forest

November 24, 2010

We are pleased to welcome Stephinie of the beautiful Gypsy Forest as a  winter sponsor, and to feature her in today’s sponsorship giveaway. Stephinie’s blog is a constant source of inspiration for the editors of Rhythm of The Home, and her Etsy store is filled with treasures for every member of the family.  We hope that you enjoy getting to know Stephinie’s work, and good luck for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate to her store.

Gypsy Forest, also the name of my blog, came from a combination of our family being nature lovers and our Gypsy lifestyle. Due to my husband’s career, we relocate every 2-4 years. Right now the items are all handmade in the deep south of Louisiana, but one never knows where they will be made in the coming years. However, the love and craftsmanship that goes into each of my creations will always remain constant. The items I sell in my shop have been baby gifts for friends and family. After some requests by these loved ones, I decided to open up my Etsy shop. My goal is to offer heirloom quality handmades that are crafted entirely of natural materials. Anything that makes a debut on the “shelves” of the shop has been useful and field tested by own rowdy brood. I really feel that things should be beautiful and durable and I hope my customers find that their Gypsy Forest handmades have these qualities. Finding balance as a mother and business owner is hard at times. My children homeschool, so most of the shop sewing happens in the evenings or on the weekend when my husband is home to chase our wild and funny four year old son. For now I have decided to keep everything small scale and therefor easily manageable. Providing excellent service to my customers is of the utmost importance and is another reason to keep things simple for the time being. I do plan to expand as I find more time to sew. But as any mama will tell you, family comes first! Making time to knit, sew and create with my children is very important to me, and watching their creative spirit bloom is just amazing. My oldest daughter has just recently taken up sewing and before I know it I think her skills will surpass my own! I feel passionate that handmade items, whether knitted, sewn or cooked, be created with love in your heart. Remembering this really helps me to keep balance in my own daily life.

To learn more about Stephine, please visit her at her shop, or on her blog.

To enter for a change to win a $50 gift certificate to Stephinie’s store, simply leave a comment in the comments section. The giveaway will close on Friday at midnight, and a winner will be announced on Saturday morning.

Mmm, What wonderful colors. Here it is a high of 6 F on Thanksgiving day and I think snuggling under one of those quilts with hot buttered rum sounds like Thanks enough. Thanks for the lovely given away and a thanks filled thanksgiving to all of you.

As a mom trying to find time to create myself, I so admire all that you are doing. Creating kind generous children is our most important endeavor yet, though.

I feel a little sheepish entering this giveaway since I’ve already been the lucky recipient of some lovely and delicious goodies from my southeastern-dwelling friend.
But…how can I resist? I love all your creations.
