Being: Conscious, mortal existence; life.

Every month we welcome two families, two people, two voices to share their stories in whatever way they chose. We hope that you find joy in their daily lives, and their simple habit of just being.

”You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one.” ~Thoreau

persistence. keep on keeping on.

dreaming & believing & hammering & forging.

remembering you have a choice each moment of each day to be patient with yourself, with others.

rough edges smoothed down with the waxing and waning of seasons.

life, death, joy, sorrow.there is a time and to every season . . .

. . . in the quiet and in the rushing may there be peace in the persistence.

This month we are so happy to welcome Sarah Swanson-Dexel as our guest in the Being series.  Sarah lives with her family in the redwood forest of Northern California, perched just above the Pacific.  She documents her life as a mother, creative spirit, beach comber and forest dweller on her beautiful blog, urban. prairie. forest.

I love that first quote so much. And the photos. Ok, all of it.

i’ve kept this post up all day and read it several times…. it’s magic, sarah, the way you weave words and pictures together. these images of clefts made in rock are so amazing. i could explore them for hours. i needed this nudge of intentionality today and these words, knowing it’s my choice. thank you.
