A New Addition to Rhythm of the Home

April 19, 2012

Rhythm of the Home has seen many changes over the past few years, and as we continue to grow, we have been lucky enough to work with some incredible individuals. Today we welcome a new addition to our staff. Annie Reichmann is a mother, blogger, crafter and the creator of Alphabet Glue magazine. Her work has inspired so many in the area of storytelling and literature, and her contribution to Rhythm of the Home has been invaluable.

Annie joins us as an associate editor, with a focus on developing the blog and social media. We hope that you will join us in welcoming her and making her feel welcome in our amazing community.

In that spirit, here is a letter from Annie to all of you.

Hello!

Like many of you, I have read along over the last couple of years as The Rhythm of the Home has gone from being a fledgling online periodical to being a community of like minded people raising families across the globe. And, like many of you, I have found the presence of this community to be an inspiration in my own life as I strive to raise my children to appreciate simplicity, even as they grow up in an ever more complicated world. So, it goes without saying that I am thrilled to be taking on a more formal role in the continuing growth of this very special project and the community that surrounds it.

Some of you may already have gathered a bit of information about me from my posts here on the blog over the last couple of weeks. If so, you probably already know that I am a mother to two small ones, with an almost eight year age difference between them. I was also an elementary school teacher for many years, but am currently trying out the full-time mom gig for the first time. I love it. Although we are longtime Californians, we are currently masquerading as Vermonters while my husband finishes medical school here, and where we will end up next is really anyone’s guess. I am an unreformed multi-tasker and have nothing but enthusiasm for striped socks, woodpeckers, good chocolate chip cookies and collecting acorns. I blog about all of these things and more, along with my love of children’s literature, at my home here on the internet, Bird and Little Bird. The blog is also home to my newest endeavor; a literacy and craft themed e-magazine for families called Alphabet Glue.

I so look forward to sharing this space with all of you and getting to know you better in the days and weeks to come!
