Sponsor Spotlight :: Waldorf on Etsy (and a Huge Giveaway!)

March 15, 2013

Today we welcome Rhythm of the Home sponsors Waldorf on Etsy to the blog. Read on to find out more about the team, some of the wonderful Waldorf inspired businesses that have created it, and to enter an incredible giveaway!

Tell us a bit about Waldorf on Etsy.

Waldorf on Etsy is a team of crafters and artists whose work is inspired by Waldorf education. The toys, clothes and art we create are crafted of natural materials. As in Waldorf pedagogy, our toys are simple and beautiful, and designed to inspire a child’s imagination.

Can you introduce us to the shops that make up Waldorf on Etsy.

There are more than 100 shops that are part of Waldorf on Etsy. Team members include Waldorf teachers, Waldorf parents, Waldorf-inspired homeschoolers, Waldorf graduates and other artists who are inspired by the Waldorf style. We are an international team of artists. Our diverse team members create toys, including Waldorf dolls, wooden toys, wool toys, needle-felted gnomes, fairies and animals; knitted and crocheted baby clothes, natural products, art and much more.

What inspired you to begin this team, and what keeps you motivated today?

The Waldorf community is full of talented artists; a search for Waldorf leads to tens of thousands of items on Etsy. The original vision was to bring these artists and crafters together, so we could support each other’s efforts. The international flavor of the team is interesting; we come from far corners of the globe and come together out of our love of creating, natural Waldorf-inspired toys, art and other items. For many of our team members, who don’t live near a Waldorf school, this is their connection to the Waldorf community.

What are your hopes for Waldorf on Etsy for the future?

To see the team continue to grow offering a diverse selection of beautiful Waldorf-inspired items and to continue to grow the Waldorf community on Etsy.

The team Facebook page can be found here.
